Mount Waverly
From our first meeting, it was clear these clients were not looking for a kitchen just to prepare and cook meals, but also a place were they could spend time with their family and friends. The kitchen's old footprint needed to remain the same way in the new design, as some of the existing features had to be taken into consideration. The wall to the rear of the servery is curved, so to tie the spaces together, the island benchtop and servery top both have curved edges.
The clients decided they wanted high-gloss cabinetry, ceasartone bench tops and stiking glass splash backs for high end appeal. For the cabinet doors we used ULTRAglaze in Glacier Metallic, which gives a lustrous mirror-like finish. Storage above the fridge was also integrated to utilise that wasted space, and a wine rack from Lincoln Sentry was added to make this a real entertainer's kitchen. We chose the best internal hardware by Blum and Häfele. Modern streamlined handles were chosen for the below-bench cupboards and overhead cabinets are handleless, which allows the kitchen to blend seamlessly into the space.
