Tamarama House

The Tamarama Curve House is an architectural manifestation of the beach lifestyle. Its curves capture the flows of the sea, the beach and the valley. A playful interplay between outdoor and indoor spaces keep the space relaxed. And a simple, mixed palette, gives the house an elegant exterior that isn’t showy or out of scale with the area.
This is a house that knows where it is. It’s inverted from the traditional design, with the living space on the top to capture the sunshine, ocean views and sea breezes. But it’s also alert to the downsides of beach living. The L-shape design protects from biting north westerly winds, and cantilevered roofs and recessed openings protect from the sun.
Sustainable design has been effortlessly integrated into the house with the wall massing, carefully placed openings and roof overhangs integrate with active systems for environmental control.
