Contemporary Ground Floor Extension
The house is a late 1950’s 4 bedroom, semi-detached house located in Woodford Green. The build cost was approximately £175,000 incl VAT. The works involved a large single storey full width rear extension and conversion of garage along with rear landscaping.
The proposed rear extension is designed in a modern contemporary style integrating the use of a flat roof with roof lights and full height glazing to maximise the views of the garden. A mixture of grey brick and timber cladding was used to break up the rear facade. The ground floor incorporates a new large open-plan kitchen/dining and family area that leads out onto the rear garden terrace.
The existing garage has been replaced to become a home gym allowing for bike storage and a workout area. The addition of a glazed door to the rear allows for natural light and views to the garden.
