Kitchen in Dulux Stormcloud Satin Poly with Laminex Elegant Oak features
Unusual spaces require 'out-of-the-box' solutions.
Whilst the client was overall happy with the old kitchen, the high-gloss cabinets in two tones of 'battleship grey', dark grey stone benchtop and splashback, as well as insufficient oven space and functionality made for a less than inviting space and looked very dated.
As the footprint had to be followed, a more creative approach was needed. Opting for a mix of warm timber feature finishes as well as a softer grey for the main cabinets, was the perfect solution.
Functionality was a key requirement in the re-design, which was achieved by the addition of a generous appliance cabinet as well as a wall oven in the microwave tower to complement the oven in the upright 900mm Smeg stove, making the wall oven a more ergonomic access for day to day cooking.
Incorporating an overhang to allow for seating at the island was also a functional and inclusive addition to the design.
The kitchen now looks brighter, more inviting and functions just how the owners of this beautiful property want it to.
