Set in the leafy inner east, we worked closely with the client on this project to reinvigorate a house that needed extensive repairs and had an odd-shaped site arrangement and poor connection to the garden.

Through opening up rooms including an innovative internal steel glazed bifold wall, the feel of the house is totally transformed. Suddenly the garden can be seen from the kitchen bench deep within the house, transforming the experience of dwelling into one of abundant natural light and connection to nature. A new deck arrangement with tiered steps works to enhance connection to the garden. Materials were chosen for their simple yet textural quality, resulting in a resort-like and luxury feel.
