village studio
Village Studio is a design that is exciting, respectful of its heritage place and innovative in it’s interior design approach. The design response focus was to use a restrained yet rich material palette, working cohesively with the client’s striking art collection to bring the mindfulness of art front and centre.
The walnut timber joinery provides the rich bass note to the spatial quality throughout; and the budget needed to create a higher quality sophisticated fit-out which was a challenge with such an extensive floor plan. Every element contributes to a refined sensibility, from the walnut joinery, to vanity units, to the textural qualities of tiles, armchairs and sofas. The Jenny Jones rugs are a feature and help accentuate the art of the spaces. The gym joinery features a mesh screen back that celebrates natural light and the shadowscape of the street tree canopy. Soaring raking ceilings are simple yet effective strategies. Inside the main building, the home office is crafted with care, and in the open plan living, the 3m long table becomes a stunning centrepiece for a beautiful room that's showcases the clients' artworks and sculptural pieces.
Details are all carefully considered throughout, from the stunning kitchen and butler's pantry, through to the laundry and powder room, and the gorgeous bathrooms. A highlight is the feature bar concealed in the joinery, and gorgeous landscaping by Nadia Gill.
