Southshore Kitchen Renovation
This new kitchen replaces a dark disjointed kitchen comprising of 2 separate islands with no identity as to how this kitchen worked within this home. A previous renovation had been worked around some load-bearing walls and felt like it had just been stuck against the walls. My client needed this kitchen to feel like it was part of the hub of the home where the children could sit and do homework whilst still being part of the interaction of the family. We created an area to one side of the structural wall which also created the balance of the kitchen with the tall cabinets. The heavy dark ceiling was removed and now feels as part of the whole room. The island overhangs into the lounge area and is perfect for entertaining. My client loves to cook so that interaction was important. The Dark Granite benchtop has sparkles in it so reflects the light from the drop lights and reflects all around the room. Soft grey tiles were added for the splash areas and a pull-out hose adds a special feature to this kitchen. A combination of Granite & Stainless benchtops and double two-tone cabinets with negative details gave my client the masculine feel he wanted for his home.
