Beach Style Kitchen in the City
When storage is an issue, every measure must be taken during a kitchen renovation to ensure that storage is maximised. With this design by Brilliant SA, this kitchen has more space than ever.
An alluring combination of texture and colour, paired with a contemporary timber look, makes quite an impression in this spacious kitchen. Transformed from a heavy timber kitchen, light overhead colours and darker base cabinets form the foundation of a visually larger space. The whitewash timber-look floor tiles lift the room, offering a luminous, tactile realism in harmony with the bevelled subway tiles and Shaker-style cabinetry. LED downlights add to the radiance. Maximum storage was a must-have, so we selected a range of Blum products to utilise every nook and cranny: a corner drawer, Le Mans unit, two-tier pull-out for oils and spices, and pull-out tea towel and dishwasher drawer. A dedicated coffee-making area was slotted in adjacent to the pantry. The tabletop adds an important social aspect to the kitchen, its curves enhancing the overall flow of the space and adding the final visual treat.
