The clients’ 13-year-old home was in need of a new lease on life and they were ready to say goodbye to the old pink-and-yellow colour scheme.
Brilliant SA’s renovation of the Flagstaff Hill home encompassed not only the complete renovation of a kitchen but also two bathrooms, a laundry and a powder room as well as new tiled flooring throughout the general living space.
Multiple rooms were reconfigured to make the most of key design features and provide the utmost liveability. In particular, the clients were keen to achieve a seamless, modern look which would not date, increased showering space in the main ensuite, replace existing lighting with energy-efficient options, provide extra storage and reduce noise levels in the master bedroom.
In the main ensuite, a bulky spa bath was replaced with an elegant, freestanding bath and floor-mounted spout. Mirrored shaving cabinets were recessed into the wall above the generous vanity with recessed niches in the shower area to provide much-needed storage. The existing opening to the bathroom was reduced and a framed-glass door added. The second ensuite was designed with the safety of the clients’ young children in mind.
Designed with three separate work triangles, the kitchen fulfils the clients’ extensive wish list with a modern look, easy-to-clean surfaces and increased storage and functionality. With plenty of space for multiple users at any one time, the kitchen is now the centre of family life.
