Five Dock House as featured on Grand Designs Australia

This brand new home was architecturally designed by Utz Sanby Architects with Plan 2 Design overseeing and working with the architects to complete the interiors.
The house was made out of structural steel which gives open internal spaces and is expressed on the exterior.

The entire upper window area of the house has louvres which gives good cross ventilation and the large glass sliding doors open to take in the views of the park and bay.

Mondrian was a major influence with the primary colours being used externally on the featured glass and front door and then employed internally in the mural designed by Plan 2 Design and within the joinery and soft furnishings. The boys bedrooms have bedheads and shelving which also have the primary colours and this is matched in their study area.

Every square metre of this house has been thought through and used especially in the Rumpus room which doubles as a guest room. There is a high tech bed which was imported from Germany which seamlessly concertinas out from the wall with the touch of a button. Two huge sliding doors open out from the Rumpus room to the garage and this area can be completely opened out for larger teenage gatherings with their own bbq adjacent to this in the backyard.

The study areas have been built into the hallways with storage to maximise the space.
