AWARD WINNING HOUSE: BEST HOUSE & BEST RESIDENTIAL INTERIORS (national and state) 2006/2005 (BDAWA + BDA), For more information see: http://www.yaelk.com.au/minim-cove-residence-2006

The brief of the interiors was for a dwelling that enhanced the sense of family. It also needed to let individual members enjoy their own space and style.

The clients wanted to provide a comfortable home for their 3 teenage daughters which would hopefully keep them at home.

Start again - was the order of the day.

The interiors were driven by the individual needs of the family.

The subtle, yet confident architecture of the home leaves room for fashion. Whilst a perfectly balanced use of space and function prevail. The girls were into cool and groovy. The parents were into a quiet kind of glamour.

The parents retreat is accessed via its own private stairwell. here space and indulgence prevail with every comfort considered.

The kitchen is partially concealed by a central cocktail bar and nifty office nook which is tucked behind Glass bi- fold doors.

A serious pantry- store and abundance of appliance cupboards are just some of the many features of this streamlined and functional space.

The need for an abundance of storage has been carefully addressed throughout the home with no stone left unturned.

The beautiful Karratha stone together with stainless steel anchors used in the exterior of the home, sets the theme of style and colour which transcends through to the interiors.

The designer used strong design disciplines to maintain a consistent theme throughout the interiors.

Beautiful sandstone floors and glass walls are set against luxurious rugs with warm timbers and sensual fabrics, creating a calm and comfortable abode.

All the finishes in the house follow the theme created in the exterior of the building.

This is evident in all the tiling and cabinetry together with the furniture which has been custom designed and manufactured.

The selection of artworks, window treatments and accessories, right down to the linen have all been carefully chosen with painstaking attention to detail.

The outcome is a successful cohesion of personality and style creating a balanced and harmonious interior.
