NEW BUILD: Suburban Luxury (H+P home)
This client was a couple with very different visions. Hers was to create a French-Style home with beautiful iron work, marble floors, and European high end finishes. His was to create a monolithic, minimalist style home. The brief was to build on as much of the land as allowed - so we covered 50% of the land with the home.
This home needed a separate granny flat within the house, grand sweeping staircases, large volume rooms and every bathroom had to have a bidet as well as a toilet. Because the home is beach side, all of the main living is on the second level to maximize views of the ocean and the natural flora. They also wanted an open roof deck, creating a top third level to the house to capture the views of the beach.
The challenge of this new build was to meet both of the clients needs within the design, to give them both an emotional connection to the home.
This build turned out to be a beautiful home that has since sold (they made their money back and some on the sale) and overall the clients were really happy the entire process was about their visions and what they wanted.
We have since liaised with the new owners of the home to add an inclusion of a lift (which had been allocated for in the original design).
