A living example of a Modernist home built in 1968, the brief was to custom design the spaces to work for how the owners live, whilst staying true to its original character.
A second story was added to create a quiet parents retreat including a bedroom, ensuite & study, allowing space downstairs to be zoned for the owners two adult children. In addition the kitchen and bathrooms were updated and a studio added for the owners artistic pursuits.
As the original Modernist charm of the house was to be embraced, the red brick exterior was left un-rendered and the crazy paving throughout the courtyard remains. The result was a functional family home which embraces and enhances its original Modernist architecture.
