With a brief to capture the charm of the Mediterranean with a modern European aesthetic, this beachside home on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula turns conventional living upside down. With the living area situated upstairs to capture the most of the panoramic views over the nearby ocean and farmland, and bedrooms instead on the ground floor opening to the lush garden surrounds.
In creating this family home, accommodation was needed for 3 adult children and their partners, along with plenty of large spaces for entertaining, yet the owners also wanted to feel cosy for maximum relaxation when it was just them at home.
At the core of the layout and design we focused on combining functionality for beachside living with consideration of the aspect to the view, in order to enhance relaxation and enjoyment of the fluctuating family. Material selection then enabled us to create an aesthetic that reflected the Mediterranean feel our clients desired. Working alongside well respected builders GEM Taylor ensured that the build and application of materials perfectly reflected the plans and suited the beachside location.
