Country Cottage Project
The Cottage was purchased as a humble home in need of a little love and attention.
The brief to Hurren Architects was clear.
Restore the three main rooms and rebuild the remaining rooms with a practical approach. Ensure additions were integrated into the existing style while being conscious of budget. Increase light and space through the extended rooms.
Creating an aged feeling in the extension became paramount to ensure the building kept its charm and that the extension linked with the existing structure.
The use of glass and reclaimed timber along with exposure of stone walls and render wall finishing helped to link the old and new, allowing for the patina of the property to become a feature of the renovation.
