The opportunity was to create a split level rear addition which would capture city skyline views. The challenge was to retain original Inter War bungalow which had some heritage neighbours whilst seamlessly integrating a light and airy family room addition. A new kitchen, laundry, stair and dining room was created. In transition from front to back, the clients move from cellular traditional boxy rooms to an open plan area.

To enable the clients to remain on site as owner-builders, an existing double garage was converted to a summer pavillion with a butterfly roof and outdoor dining
