decorating ideas please

I am stuck and needing some ideas for decorating this room. I am confused on artwork over the lounge ) l like landscape scenes and whether to put a console table under the ugly air conditioner which I can’t get rid of until it dies. Also not sure if it should be black or timber? Also lamps on floor or tables and vignette on table.
I was thinking some personal black and white photos not sure timber frame or black frames.

Any ideas and help is greatly appreciated.

Paint the aircon in the wall colour.
Lamps great idea. Not sure what purpose the console will be. A plant or floor lamp could fill the space.

Pull all your furniture forward a little off the walls. Agree leave out the console and add lamps.

Hi Bekkyboo7, if you like the idea of plants - depending on your taste you could go for something sculptural like a String of Peas or a ZZ Plant or if you're a keen cook go for herbs - there's even hydroponic kits that are designed for kitchen benches such as Aerogrow hydroponic systems or try something in a macramé hanger (just watch the weight - growing medium can be heavy when wet).

It’s a sliding door to go outside, so the lounge can go in the front of the wall and sliding door fixed panel. Bring it away from the wall. Or two accent chairs with a coffee table. What is around the corner that doesn’t show in photos. If there is nothing that the lounge is facing, then turn the lounge around so it faces the dining area.

Do you mean inside the open shelves? Decorative storage boxes in coordinating colours. If you don't need the storage yet you might later so don't waste shelving you already have and don't clutter it up with impersonal 'decor' stuff. It's also easier to dust than a hodgepodge of tchotchkes.

Great ideas, find an artwork that you love, add to your lovely cushions, find lamps that will give a beautiful ambience to your room.

I love the first console table. With your current layout I would like to see something like it next to the lounge under the aircon which would distract from it plus a lamp similar to the lovely one that julie posted. Perhaps something under the TV would be great as well.

Even consider trying the sofa's opposite each other with arm chairs on the aircon wall?
