Instead of a plain panel alongside the refrigerator, we used a custom wainscot panel. this panel is about 30 inches wide. By using wainscoting, it diminishes the size of it. It also makes the deep refrigerator look counter-depth, with a built-in look.

the corner base cabinets have been pulled out of the corner to meet the edge of the deep refrigerator panel. This made accessing the base lazy Susan easier and created more counter space.

Keeping the stove on the outside wall makes ducting the hood to the exterior much easier.

The two-tiered peninsula allows for a discreet outlet without having cords hanging over the side of the cabinets.

The disposal air switch is on the back left corner of the sink.

The angled base cabinet at the end of the peninsula allowed for a longer seating area at the bar, while easing passage into the kitchen.

These steel plates are screwed into the knee wall and support the counter overhang without visible support.

The "Cadillac" of lazy Susans, the doors travel with the unit and then close on their own when they return to the opening.

Pot and pan drawers make finding the right pot so easy.

When you remove a wall to create an open floor plan, you always lose storage, so we reduced the width of the windows on this wall in favor of more wall cabinets. These windows are awning-style, so they can stay open all day without fear of rain.

The powder room was changed from long and narrow to be more square. This gave more room to the kitchen, while still having a comfortable powder room.
