As is often the case, this kitchen had the door from the kitchen to the dining room on the opposite corner from the entrance to the kitchen. This requires all traffic to flow through the cook's turf. Since the homeowner wanted to open the kitchen to the dining room, we moved the passage down to create a U-shaped kitchen. This provided more counter-space where it was needed.
