Help with living room design
Comments (7)I think the main thing to think about would be traffic flow. You need to make sure you have adequate space between the chairs and the kitchen bench to allow passage through to the meals area, and between the two-seater and the sliding doors to access the deck. You might want to use masking tape to mark all the placements out to see how they fit and how the traffic flow is. You might also want to think about whether you want to be in the al fresco area looking in at the back of a couch. Personally, I'd probably go for chairs there, but that's just me. I like some of the pieces you've chosen, especially the larger sofa and the chairs. And it looks like a very nice space to play around with....See MoreNeed design help with our living room
Comments (16)Dark wall looks great, as does the square set ceiling. Great starting point. Whatever lounge you get, make sure it's leather! So much easier to look after when you have children of any age group! My 20 year old drops more crap than the 15 year old does.... Go for a modern classic design so it suits the existing room and won't fall out of fashion (fad). A quality piece should last for decades and always look great. I like julie herberts chosen pictures, I'm no interior designer but I think they're pretty good and on point!...See MoreNeed help with living room design
Comments (45)Hi, I have looked at your photos, and with the dark door frames, thought you might like to embrace that colouring? I have attached photo which has colours that are already in your room, that would be difficult to change, ie: door frames. with adding light cushions, rug and artwork, would keep room light. With white shutters on front windows and Painting your dining setting black, as previously suggested. This is completely different to the other colour palette I have previously posted. But, thought I would share my thoughts....See MoreNeed suggestion in designing my cramped living room -- Please

When you buy your entertainment unit choose something which allows access for plugging in the vacuum cleaner. Unless you have a rechargeable vac which doesn't need a power point. With hard flooring perhaps you will mop more than vac. Although if you want to soften or warm the space you might have a rug? I didn't understand "combination of bright and neutral colours" until I looked at your Idea Book. You have some lovely pictures there. Do you have any artworks yet? That might influence which colours you repeat throughout your space. The grey sofas are probably the most versatile and timeless, and something like that might be the easiest to source in a size and configuration to suit your needs....See MoreJulie Herbert
