Help??
Comments (127)You have a mixed colour palette & an eclectic range of furniture which means that you will end up with a very interesting room indeed. First suggestion: reposition rug so that all of the sofa sits on it equidistantly. At the moment your main colours are: chocolate; white; tan and grey from your sofa, entertainment unit, dining table, kitchen etc. These colours always look great together particularly if they are teamed up with black. So I think if you choose the right artwork with these colours; add copper items to top of your tables and choose cushions in these tones the whole room will come together. You will successfully mix old and new & it won’t be too bold for your taste. Note: artwork should be purchased first & be landscape in orientation. Could your existing artwork hang in the kitchen or hallway as it would be seen from the main room? To give you an idea of what I mean see pic below. Not suggesting that these items are what you would personally choose but focus on the colours and how everything is tied together. PS you could put some of your ornaments on the coffee table....See MoreHelp please! Parquetry in my hallway OR solid timber planks??
Comments (29)Thanks Siriuskey for your fotos.... beautiful Parquetry floors, beautiful home and stunning water views! I notice your parquetry floor transitions to grey tiles as well.... which is also very similar to what i will have happening. Im now very much leaning towards parquetry you'll be pleased to know. I collected some samples today, and noticed the store had them in a double formation which i'd never seen layed like that before. Its just 1 block of parquetry layed right next to another to make it seem thicker. I think it looks quite contemporary....check out the pic below from the timber showroom:(top half shows 2 blocks layed together in herringbone pattern) I placed a few of these on my floor as example No1, then i placed some in single herringbone as example No2 below. Which do you think looks better? - examples No1 double block herringbone - example No2 single block herringbone Thanks in advance for everyones input and feedback :-)...See MoreDog-friendly lounge room flooring
Comments (7)Try a hardwearing carpet in a different colour and style. Polypropylene is recycled plastic and the cheapest and most hardwearing carpet out there. I lived in a unit where my cats went to town on the carpet, they could do no damage to that carpet at all. Textured loop piles are also easier to keep clean than cut piles. I think a laminate flooring next to a real wood floor is going to look terrible. Laminates do not look anything like wood, and especially not when butting up against it....See Moredark or light large parquetry floors
Comments (4)Go with the colour you like.... i much prefer the look of light coloured floors so would always go this option regardless of fashion. The negative of dark is that you see every hair and speck of dust, especially when the light is on them....See MoreLucy Telfar Barnard
