Studio Uno is an unexpected sanctuary for our client Naomi, a full-time carer and mother. Lying behind an established Brunswick terrace, it takes the shape of a meticulously designed Dependent Persons Unit. Naomi lives with her adult daughter, who has very high support needs. The nature of their circumstances means that living together under one roof isn’t always feasible. Naomi needed a certified DPU that met a simple brief: a dismantlable but quality retreat with warm, robust materials and a calming ambience. We’ve packed as much enduring quality and thoughtful design as possible into a compact footprint. Carefully engineered, the dwelling’s lightweight structure and internal linings enable it to be readily disassembled, transported and rebuilt elsewhere. It replaces the fence at the site’s rear, with its upper mass leaning into one corner to minimise impact on the neighbours’ skyscape. Inside, blackbutt timber and hoop pine plywood dominate the palette to create a warm, low-contrast and relaxing environment. The ground floor features dual sliding doors connecting to the courtyard and laneway, with a versatile living area between for retreat, Naomi’s art practice and above all, peacefulness. Lining the wall is a simple kitchenette, cabinetry, and a clever door concealing the bathroom. A staircase leads to the loft bedroom above, made deliberately cosy and secluded by the dwelling’s tapered form. It’s punctured only by a small window to the lane and a skylight above, offering light and ventilation without compromising privacy.

Dans cette chambre, le rangement manquait cruellement. On encadre donc le lit avec deux placards sur-mesure, dont les portes miroir mettent en valeur la pierre apparente aux murs. On prolonge visuellement en hauteur la tête de lit grâce à l'application de notre vert sauge jusqu'en haut des placards. On crée un espace coiffeuse dans l'angle de la pièce.

Cette propriété prestigieuse de près de 500 m2, inscrite au patrimoine nantais, domine la plus belle rivière de France. Ses nouveaux propriétaires souhaitaient un intérieur à leur image, tout en préservant le cachet, l'âme et le caractère de la villa. Nous avons ainsi redonné vie aux parquets et boiseries cachées, valorisé et accentué les moulures, travaillé avec des produits de qualité et des matériaux nobles. Une rénovation haut de gamme, dans une ambiance douce et luxueuse.

This bedroom, part of the New England & Cape Cod–inspired home by Studio212 Ltd, has been conceived as a calm and elegant retreat. A bespoke timber slatted headboard wall with integrated LED lighting creates a warm architectural feature, framing the upholstered bed. On either side, pendant lamps from Heals provide ambient glow and balance. To the left, a bespoke floating dressing table/desk with mirror is paired with a King Living chair, adding both practicality and refined texture. Soft cushions and a wool throw in shades of green layer subtle contrast against the crisp quilted bedspread, while a pale carpet grounds the scheme in comfort and calm.

In this room the client wanted a boutique hotel look and feel with bags of colour. I created a colour scheme from the wallpaper we chose to tie the room together using different shades of pink and maroon and there isn’t a shade of white in sight. We kept the existing furniture and came up with a new lighting plan taking away the ‘big light’ (which wasn’t being used) and opted for pendants with individual switches to add a bit of luxury.
