I love window seats. They make you feel like you're in your own private world so you can really loose yourself in thought or a good book or indulge in a good cuddle with your cat or dog. I was tied between 2 and 4. I like a place where I can either stack pillows or lean back comfortably without leaning against the window and I definitely like the added perk of storage.

Yes a mate and I made it. It's ridiculously heavy but it serves it's purpose. The original idea was to make it in 2 pieces so you could change shape and move it. But we didn't think it would match up evenly so, the single build it was

Hi Aninaya, have lived in several houses with bar seating but we’ve never been ‘sit at the island/peninsula’ people, so we don’t even have an overhang in our recently built place. We have easily accessible, dining room facing storage instead. One thing to be aware of though, a wide island or peninsula can look a bit heavy / blocky. Particularly dark, monochromatic styles. We overcame this with a timber feature but shelving, shape, or other architectural design will work to overcome the issue. A few Houzz photos, and ours, to give context 👇🏻
