Dulux Snowy Mountain Quarter
Comments (42)Hi Katrina, In the rooms (in my SIL house) that throw that green cast they have a neutral carpet. There is A LOT of light in this particular area of the house, so I do believe that impacts the undertone. In my own house, I also have very bright rooms, large windows, westerly facing. We went NWH. Now what is interesting is in one room (the brightest room) it looks bright and white and in the other room which is adjacent and still a bright room but have sheers over window, it looks darker. I like a bright white room but the SM H/Q threw that weird green cast in my house. I prefer the NW because it has a warmer feel to it whilst still is a nice, white colour. I have light flooring also. Truly, its so difficult and far from an exact science because so much influences the colour in your own home. I'm not sure what the NW would look like next to the SM, but if the rooms are not open plan, I don't know if most people would tell. We painted the bedrooms (I think from memory) Lexicon Q and I don't find it jarring, they are just in a different part of the house and we needed a different white. Good luck, finding the right white is a journey! With kindness, SB....See MoreSnowy Mountains Half or Lexicon Half with Calacatta Nuvo
Comments (1)Both of those whites are cool whites with subtle blue/grey undertones. I don't have a sample of Caeserstone Clacatta on hand, but some of the images online show that this has a hint of warmth in it, with a subtle cream/yellow undertone. http://www.caesarstone.com.au/colour/5131-calacatta-nuvo If this is this is the case, and these images are accurate, I would be cautious about combining your Caeserstone selection with either of your paint colours. But the best way to judge is seeing samples together in a similar light. Digital internet images are notoriously unreliable for subtle colour accuracy. Even if you chose the same colour for walls, trim and cabinetwork there will be subtle differences due to the finishes and how the paint is applied. Walls are generally painted with a roller and have a flatter finish than skirtings and architraves which have a bit more gloss, and are painted with a paintbrush. Cabinetwork is often satin or gloss, and applied with a spray gun. This means that there will be subtle variations between these elements, even if the colour is the same, your eye may well perceive differences. Don't plan on a perfect match between everything. Comments (0)I am looking to paint my bedroom a softer warmer colour than the rest of my house. i am choosing between Grand piano Half and Beige Royal Half. The rest of my spaces I am painting in Snowy Mountains half. I will still use Snowy Mountains half on my architraves and ceiling in my bedroom but want to paint my walls one of the two colours suggested. i have painted the colours on my walls. The two colours look very similar on my walls. The grand piano half looks a bit fresher and seems to have a pink undertone and the beige royal doesnt have any pink but seems more like a warm brown/grey. Does anyone have any experience with these colours on their walls and does the beige royal look flat and dull on the wall and the grand piano more fresh? i guess i am trying to work out how do you decide which will work better if you are looking to have a grey/beige bedhead and alternate the bedding on the bed that ranges in colour from light blue/grey/grey pink and deep browny/red? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks...See MoreDulux Snowy Mountains - why does it look green?
Comments (3)Hi Jenna, How are you liking the SM Full? I am seriously thinking about doing my living area in this mainly due to the very light white floors and the SMH looked very stark with the white floor tiles. I'd love to know how you feel about the colour 4 months on! This is my room, you can just see a painted square under the left window! the left colour is SM and the one next to it is Silver Tea Set....See Moremisslucy1
