Usually waterline tiles are small mosaics as the corner of the pool is curved to assist with cleaning and pool sweeps. Large tiles won't be able to carry around the curve. The only option would be to use slender, finger-like tiles, laid vertically. These types of tiles look great, but are not cheap.

Hi Emma. You need to keep in mind that waterline pool tiles are especially designed to cope with the rigours of pool chemicals etc. My go to for pool tiles is Cotto

We used outdoor tiles that matched tiles we used in our bathrooms. We had a great tiler who laid these as coping and waterline, and pool patio. We then had the edges honed by another contractor to give a rounded edge after they were laid.

Hi Emma. As mentioned above, you can select a porcelain tile that is suitable for outdoor use. This can then be installed as your paving, coping and waterline similar to below.

I would suggest 100-150mm of waterline tile as below.

Otherwise we have installed pavers such as Anston or Stone Outdoors and then matched the colour with a porcelain waterline tile.
