Hendler House, 1996
Hendler House is an award-winning beachside home in Watsons Bay, designed by Peter Stutchbury and recognised as the Winner of the Robin Boyd Award.
To The Mil was initially engaged as the carpentry contractor for the roof boxes, before remaining on the project through to completion to deliver all site carpentry works.
The project required an exceptionally high level of carpentry, with large-scale exposed recycled hardwood used throughout the home. This material became a defining element of the architecture, contributing to the strength, warmth and craftsmanship of the completed residence.
The result is a highly resolved architectural home where structure, material and carpentry are central to the character of the build.
