Potts Point Unit, 2024
Set within a boutique 1980s apartment building in Potts Point, this project is a complete internal reconfiguration focused on refinement rather than expansion. The existing layout was reworked to improve light, flow and spatial clarity, creating a cohesive living environment within the original footprint.
Kitchen, dining and living areas are resolved as a continuous open-plan space, allowing for greater flexibility and connection. The eastern aspect is carefully moderated through integrated automated blinds, balancing natural light with thermal comfort. Lighting design plays a central role, supporting both everyday living and the display of artwork, reinforcing a calm, gallery-like atmosphere.
Delivered within the constraints of a multi-residential building, the construction required a disciplined and highly coordinated approach. Working on the 16th floor, all materials and trades were managed through shared access, with strict controls on timing, noise and site operations. Despite these constraints, a high level of craftsmanship was maintained throughout.
The material palette is restrained and cohesive. American oak herringbone parquet flooring with brass inlay, bespoke integrated joinery, large-format tiling and upgraded building services contribute to a unified and refined interior. Each element is selected for durability, comfort and long-term performance.
The result is a calm, precise and highly functional apartment — where improvements are achieved through clarity of space, consistency of detail and a considered approach to everyday living.
