Is converting an antique Cher or dresser still a good design idea or a fading fad?

The new kitchen ceiling height will be approximately at that black line. Where should the shelves and cabinets be in relation to the palladium window? And the backyard window?

No more soffit. Ceiling above peninsula raised 8-10”. Peninsula pushed out to the window with cabinets along the back of it. Upper cabinets along the range wall with floating shelves on either side of window. TV will go on shelves to the right of window. Do we paint wood trim white like rest of the house or leave brown to match the windows. No curtains or curtainless?

The fridge will be pushed back into the existing pantry space. The pantry under the stairs stays as is. The soffit above the peninsula is coming out and just a 4-6”support beam left there.

Under the stairs microwave nook with 36” drawers, built in doggie gate and possibly a shelf above microwave. The soffit comes outside the ceiling above peninsula will be 8-10” higher!

Wood stained floating shelves with white cabinetry. Idea is to tie in the wood tone windows with the white cabinets and slate appliances.
