A fuller more complete design would have made the center square more complex. Maybe an X with board parallel to the base getting smaller as the go to the center. Like the dark border around the perimeter.

Very nice. This will work for my application. Baluster and sun rail aluminum, nickel, chrome. Stringer and riser wood white. Stair tread solid warm oak is a nice combination package. oak
Nice mix of old and new. Exposed tread ends OK but post mount is ugly. Like the mix of light metal and warm wood. Are sub rails rigid metal or metal cable? Tread lights are nice touch.
