Like cabinet color - should we add cabinets to the side wall?
This wood wall with the light tile is a cool design motif - not sure it would match our style but it's a bit funky without being too easily dated.
May be smart to build outlets into the island like this.

Like the design of this island with the two-tiered counter and bar, and the two tone between the wood and the white. Back splash is a bit much, but I like the gray/white/wood color combo - and the flooring would work really well with our light wood floors too.
Definitely want deep cabinets to have pull out drawers or trays! Hate having to pull everything out to reach something in the back.

Another smart idea for wine storage - don't have to chill then, and can store on their side.
This is a great use of space - you still have a small counter top, but you are able to hide appliances like the Kitchen Aid and maybe coffee supplies - can pull in and out to use without having them out on the counter - and, then you can have more cupboards above for storage.
