Why, if the design won't accommodate chairs so you can eat here? Put those in a serving/butler's cupboard and store baking equipment here.
"Newest tech" features are obsolete so quickly. I'd rather have mine on locking wheels, and perhaps able to accomodate a couple of chairs (smaller skirt) for in-kitchen dining or sit-down jobs.
The drying rack over sink is fine idea, but aren't those plates draining onto the counter top?
Why didn't they put the sink on the right to allow for a little landing space by the range? Seems odd for clean, cut, cook work flow.
The cabinetry in the corner is not as deep as the range and "hearth & mantle" which could ease transition around a corner for traffic flow.
I'm afraid this is what dark countertops would do to my shady kitchen's (lack of) lighting.
The little skirt/support detail (corbel?) on the upper glass front cabinet adds a colonial feel.

Brick-look flooring as alternative to wood. Big windows. Soapstone over white. Glass front china storage cupboard with character.
It would be worth the extra work to clean the rail to have this integrated cutting board to save space and sweep the cuttings.
The soffit can be selectively placed. It isn't an all-or-nowhere choice.
pendant lights--the glass globes would need to be cleaned (dishwasher safe on gentle / china cycle?) but the "workings" would stay clean. And pretty. Brass/candelabra style goes with old colonial style.

Like: sink, wood top, pretty wall treatment (i'd choose something else, but it's inviting) Lighting. Not a fan: where do the coffeemaker and pitchers go? Not enough work space to mix a drink, serve. Not enough cup and glass storage. Useless extra space to ceiling, cleaning challenge
