You will be better off with a 6' round table still a little tight only 24" passage but 60" would be a perfect size and you can still seat 6-8 people, because 87" rectangular table you will lose seating at both ends 144"-87 (table) = 57 - 48 (seating both ends)= 9"

You should be ok with seating 8, you want to have a minimum of 36" between the edge of the table and the wall and max 48". Good luck

An easy way to figure out if the rectangle would work is to add 48-60" to the length and width measurements to allow for chairs and movement. So for your 90 x 44 table, using the industry standard of 30" per chair for pullout and movement then it would equal 150" x 104". Your room is 144" x 144" so it would not work. Go with a 60" round - you can seat 8 easily and 10 if you don't use oversized chairs.

I love round dining tables in square rooms, you could easily go with a 60" round it would look awesome. Nice big light over the table .
