About Us

A Studio Architecture is an architecture practice in Surry Hills. I design new homes, renovations and additions across Sydney, and I also work on older and heritage houses and small commercial projects. I've been an architect for over 20 years, first in New Zealand and then in Sydney, and started my own studio in 2021. It's a small practice, so I'm the one you'll meet at the start and I'm still there at handover. As a Certified Passive House Designer I care a lot about how a house performs, so it stays comfortable all year and costs less to run. Nioka House in Northwood won the 2025 NSW Award for Heritage (Creative Adaptation) and Terminal 13 in Newport was published in the Callwey book Houses and Cars: Where Dreams Park.

Professional Information

NSW Registered Architect, ARBN 11302 (NSW Architects Registration Board). Certified Passive House Designer. A+ Member of the Australian Institute of Architects and member of the Australian Passivhaus Association. Nioka House won the 2025 NSW Award for Heritage (Creative Adaptation) from the Australian Institute of Architects.

I have worked with Andres over a number of years on a very complicated and tricky project. Andres showed nothing but patience and expertise in getting our desired outcome and minimised the stress of our project immensely. I would not hesitate to work with Andres again with any of our building, architectural or compliance needs.
