Melinda Boag Design

I asked Melinda to design a new bathroom and laundry/powder room for me, as she had previously designed a kitchen for me which I still love completely and still wows guests. She quickly provided three separate sets of plans, all workable, but one stood out. I had a tight time frame, and Melinda was fantastic in co-ordinating builders, fitting suppliers and getting me the best price on things. She really listened to what I was looking for - I wanted colour, and a retro feel, and also stopped me from making some decisions that would have tipped the balance from quirky to ridiculous, coming with me to choose colours when I started second-guessing myself. I absolutely love my new rooms; they look amazing and people up and down the street are asking to come and look at them. Her fees were also ridiculously low I (I have a nagging feeling that surely I must owe her some more!). Will be calling her again when I get around to re-doing the bedrooms.

Melinda did a great job in advising us through all aspects of our large scale extension and renovation. Her imput/ knowledge of the plans/ layout at the early design phase was really fantastic. She tweaked our building designers plans a little and her amendments were just so practical. The end result - what we live in now is truly a delight. We love our home - and a lot of that comes back to Melinda's imput. Melinda was so invaluable with choosing all the fittings and fixtures. There were lots of meetings and assistance provided through the whole process which was great. Melinda is so easy to deal with too, she is very happy to help and will go out of her way to assist you which we thought was fantastic. There were so many elements of the process where we were unsure and Melinda was only too happy to assist. The kitchen company, Simplicity Kitchens she recommended was just fantastic. We had a lot of joinery work to be done and they were really easy to deal with, again nothing was too much trouble and the quality of the work was great. So thanks Melinda for recommending them to us. We are very happy to recommend Melinda to others.

Currently working with Melinda on interior design for our new home. We feel that working with Melinda makes a great team. We get to express our ideas but have the benefit of Melinda's great design insight, knowledge of current trends, and practicalities. And she is soooo patient. She incorporates our ideas but is not afraid to give us a contrary view when we are getting it wrong.

Melinda Boag performed magic in renovating, re-designing and decorating my kitchen and bathroom, and advising on paintwork inside and outside the house. Her consultation services were a part of my architect's services. She made adjustments to the kitchen design based on her professional and personal experience of what would work best, and that met each of my demands. Time was no object. She accompanied me to kitchen, floor tile, bench top, and blind display and supply shops. Her technique was to get to know me, my lifestyle, my taste and the importance I placed on functionality, elegance, serviceability. She then introduced me to materials and kitchen and bathroom items that I didn't know existed. We also had a lot of fun doing it, with out hassles. We remained within budget and all deadlines were met, assisted by excellent kitchen fabricators and joiners. Two years down the track I thank the day she walked into my house with her vision that enhanced mine. The result was beyond my expectations. In particular I love the simplicity, elegance and functionality of my kitchen, and cooking will never again be a chore.

We used Melinda Boag Design many years ago when we replaced our kitchen in our first house - we were very happy with her design and service, and on recently selling this house we received many compliments on the kitchen, with many commenting they thought it was a brand new kitchen. We've just purchased a real 'fixer-upper' where practically every surface and room in the house requires work. I knew immediately that I wanted someone to help me through the whole process - designing all the new rooms (kitchen, laundry, main bathroom and ensuite) as well as advising me on the choice of colours, finishes and everything that will contribute to making the renovated house a lovely contemporary home for our family for many years to come. I knew immediately that Melinda would be a great choice for this. We are only partially through the project but so far my husband and I are very happy with Melinda's designs, suggestions and advice.
