Mountford Williamson Architecture

I first approached Mountford Williamson after seeing one of their houses featured in a local lifestyle magazine and later exploring the projects on their website. I was interested in building a small, sustainable, modernist-inspired home on the Fleurieu Peninsula. I worked with Ben Mountford for the duration of the project and couldn’t be happier with the outcome. My ideas were respected and I was listened to at all times. Ben brought wonderful design skills and instincts to the project, was meticulous in his approach, transparent about all decisions made, responsive at all times, and acutely mindful of adhering to the budget I had allocated. He tactfully reined in my aspirations when they got a little out of hand and suggested alternative, more cost-effective solutions - and very patiently provided further detail and visuals in order to make my decisions easier. He has wonderful interpersonal skills and worked very collegially with the builder I had chosen. Very highly recommended!!

Martin has been fantastic to work with right throughout the process. Open, available and honest about what will and won't work. From the beginning of our project we've felt we were in safe hands and we're super happy with the results.

We were looking to downsize from our farm, so bought a beach block south of Adelaide, near our favourite family beach. We then scoured various houses across Australia which stood out in terms of sustainability, consideration of the environment, and fuss free beachside living. After looking at Adelaide and Melbourne architects based on several excellent designs, we saw a completed house in the beach neighbourhood we’d just bought in. Mountford Williamson have been fantastic to work with, grasping our passion for mid century architecture and designing a beautiful, elegant, understated home, seemingly effortlessly. The architects in this practice have strong interpersonal skills, an easy communication style and are great listeners. They fed back to us after each meeting, making sure they understood what we wanted. We were blown away by their design. We were happy with the first drawings. These have only been tweaked slightly and refined along the way. We can’t wait to see the completed house. We’re very grateful to have found architects who appreciate our style and who we can have a laugh with along the way.

We had the architects look at the 15 acre block before we purchased it. We needed to know if we could include an old stone cottage in the design. They then came up with some concept plans, one of which we chose to build. They were excellent at embracing the view, landscape and original cottage. They were always approachable and receptive to our ideas. We had seen some of their previous work which we liked. We would not hesitate in recommending them. Completion expected May 2020
