I have had the pleasure of working as the interior designer on one of Live Architectures design projects. Fiona is a very professional architect and I found her easy to work with and her documentation very thorough. As a self build the home has come to life slowly but it has been worth waiting for. It is residential architecture as it should be, beautiful, honest, sustainable and so perfect for the owners and the location. It is a home that will bring them much joy for many years to come and one which others will admire. Working with Fiona has been a collaborative process. We were presented with many great ideas for our house renovation and extension, all of which demonstrated Fiona's understanding of our design aesthetic and desire for an energy efficient home. My hubby and I wanted to build a house for our retirement that was warm, modern, sustainable, environmentally friendly and would suit us in older age. Fiona, from Live Architecture, was recommended to us by friends. We looked at a couple of houses Fiona had designed and we liked what we saw. The experience of designing our house with Fiona was fantastic. Fiona listened to our ideas but also gave us additional ideas and guidance when we needed it. She was clever in the way she worked in our ideas (and hers) into an exciting design that is more that we could have imagined. We have learned quite a lot about the availability of recycled products that would complement our house. Nothing was too much trouble. After meeting with a number of building designers and architects to discuss a new house build, we chose Live Architecture. Of all of the potential architects and designers we spoke with, Fiona Golding was the only one who had a genuine interest in and understanding of sustainable building and design practices. She was a great listener who really understood what we were after. As first-time builders we had a slightly unrealistic idea of an appropriate budget to cover what we wanted but Fiona had some great solutions for saving money without us having to compromise much on the desired outcome. Fiona's fees compared very favourably with the other businesses we spoke with - even the building designers. For a little extra we also hired Fiona to manage the whole project. We did not have have to deal with builders and the whole process was stress free - she is a great communicator. Since then I have recommended Live Architecture to several friends and all have spoken very highly of Fiona and their interactions with her. Fiona's design ingenuity has has enabled us to have a sustainable home that is quite small yet feels very spacious. After two years of living in the house and a design award from the City of Warrnambool we still think the house is perfect.
