It comes down to personal preference. I prefer a slide out because I don't want the extraction unit to be a feature of the kitchen. Also can have some cupboard space above a slide out whereas a canopy takes the space of a whole cupboard, 600 or 900mm depending on what size you are going for. Canopy range hoods are also highly visible dust & grease collectors.

this is'nt a wooden rangehood....it's a simple framework with added trims built to resemble a fireplace with a very high opening and a built in exhaust system ...a more elaborate than usual wall cabinet that can be built by a carpenter or cabinet maker...talk to the plumber and electrician for advice about a suitable rangehood or exhaust system that will function at the higher level than the standard height above the cooktop...you may have some luck with a commercial product designed for commercial kitchen then, once you have a suitable rangehood the cabinet can be built around it

Therefore you will have to source the laminate shelving from a kitchen cabinet maker. And then get someone to install into the wall as floating shelves, or install with brackets, which would not look ideal. Also is the wall brick with plaster or timber studs. The shelving must be drilled into the brick work or attached to timber studs. Have you looked at thick timber shelving? That may add interest. And anything you put on the shelves may be affected by the heat from the cooktop.

Your kitchen bench tops are the marble. You said your kitchen Made a box in the same as bench tops. So I assume that is the same marble. Or did you mean the kitchen maker made a box in the same as the cabinets. I would of thought the range hood wrapped in the same product as the cabinetry would be fine. It would help break up all the marble look. Have you looked at the range hood wrapped in the cabinetry without all of the green plastic on the other surfaces?
