Well the challenge will be to make it un-boring. My initial thoughts on this were to place the house in such a way that it could have an alternative life in the future with another house on the block, and this looks like what the architects have done with their home. In this instance, if you place it well back on the block the potential is there for it to become a granny flat. Meanwhile you could create a lovely garden/outdoor living area leading to the house that would also give the house an air of mystery from the street. Look on it as creating your own little oasis. You can add soil, even bring in rocks to make the landscape more interesting. Study garden websites and magazines for ideas, check out local nurseries for what will grow best in your area - you are only going to be limited by your imagination. With property prices rising so dramatically in our cities, should you want to sell in the future you will be presenting a property as a blank canvas for a buyer to build their own home and have an income as well, making it a more attractive proposition to a small house plonked in the middle of the block that would need extensions/renovations to suit a family. Sorry, I'm not in Melbourne to help you any further with designers/builders.

Love the geo candles and would love to see one in a dusty blue

the reno programs i've seen show a very unrealistic idea of how quick and easy it's supposed to be... your rooms are so generous that re-arranging the fridge, extra storage and seating at the kitchen bench is easy and i've attached an idea for a walk in pantry for your consideration?? BTW i meant the actual structure of the floor, concrete or timber framed in case you want to try the stove or sink away from the outside walls. I'm glad you like the ensuite and wiw and happy to attempt any variations but, much as i like planning kitchens and bathrooms, i suggest you need to confirm the overall construction, especially the roof, before finalising ideas about the internal fit out eg the yellow gable roof in my last suggestion would probably cost as much extra as the bathroom fittings and neither can be changed easily. The new kitchen cupboards would probably cost as much as the plumbing, electrican and windows but maybe the new kitchen could wait...so its' best to decide where you need to economise before you commit

I love all this feed back - thank you ladies & gents :) I do think the light and flow would probably work better like oklouise's first post - I concede you are both right. My concern was the depth of the shower - we have a very pokey one at the moment but think I see how to rectify that - tell me what you think? Also I want LOTS of storage and think keeping the storage in the activity with the entrance now up the other end would limit the furniture layouts so I would probably keep that in the entrance hall and still use the nook as is - no doubt they will sit there to do their makeup as the light will be amazing BUT i can imagine the mess will not - haha! I LOVE those doors siriuskey- so grand and impressive but my husband is a lay in bed TV watcher so that would possibly take up too much wall space for his liking - again I giggle ( you have to right?)
