My understanding of French Provincial is that it uses lighter, fresher colours as a base, so I would suggest neutral decorative cushions in white and/or cream which are textured or patterned. I think blue is also a common accent colour for French Provincial, but I'm not sure how a lighter blue (e.g. teal) or a darker blue (e.g. French blue) would work with the charcoal of the sofa. I would suggest heading to a home decorating store with a no questions asked refund policy and just grabbing everything that you like the look of and trying them out at home. A large throw in a neutral colour may also help in lightening up the sofa.

Hi I love the lounge colour and your coffee table. I think if space is an issue and you need the study area go with the ply wood suggestion on the storage drawers and decorate with cool stationary accessories like bright folders and storge files etc. I love the teal green idea and also apple green cushions. I feel like with the lounge and coffee table style you could get away witth introducing some almost industrial accessories. I think metallics are great to lift a room and there are so many colours ranging from muted neutrals to bright gold and silver. I also love playing with texture and you can get some great metallic wall art, lamps, vases etc mixed with cosy throws and rugs. Hi Tania, Congratulations on getting this far, It can be so baffling to take a project on by yourself, furnishings and design. I believe a monochromatic colour scheme is always interesting when pairing black, greys and whites with different textures. Black is one of the few colours that actually matches with everything, It is the most versatile of colours. Any style, including scandinavian, industrial contemporary or mid-century modern can incorporate black into the colour scheme so whatever style you choose will work fantastic and timelessly.
