I have been doing it for about 8 years now and wouldn't shop any other way! We are a family of 9 which means 2 to 3 trolleys at the supermarket and many heavy loads from the car.I had a very difficult pregnancy 8 years ago and decided to give it a go and have never looked back.I have tried both woolworths and coles and personally like Coles better,(i found with woolworths lots of items missing and hard to get through on the phone).Coles is fantastic! I shop at home where I can check to see what we need and I can see my trolley total as I go and am able to check it at the end and delete anything if I spend too much,not so much impulse buying,I don't have to take the kids,I can choose a 2 hour delivery window and they email me an approximate time as well! They have never been late and if they are running early they will call me to make sure thats ok.The delivery guys are lovely and we have the same 3 or 4 regulars,who even make time to stop and pat the dogs.We have a steep driveway with steps and they carry the shopping up and into the kitchen.I also get an email about any out of stock items and substitutions (which they only do if you request).As a bonus I get Flybys points which we use to get free movie tickets for the school holidays! I would recommend it to anyone!

It is a lengthy and complicated process in getting the order right with your trades. It can vary from project to project, however, the best advice I can give is do all of your research, planning and ordering well before you get any tradespeople on site. Some tiles and sanitaryware have long lead times, and these may be pushed out with our current global challenges. There is no point in booking in a tradesman if the things needed are in a container on a slow boat from China! Cabinetmakers should not start building their cabinets until the plaster is in and they can complete a site measure. You need to have made heaps of decisions and fully resolved all design aspects before your stage 3 rough-in, otherwise your choices will be limited, or expensive if you need to make changes. A good builder earns their money, not because they know how to swing a hammer, but because they are good project managers, have good sub-contractors that they can rely on, and know-how things work and go together. That was my original idea to put one beside the other in the master ensuite, and then one each in the other ensuite, powder room, and bathroom. The bathroom will be a guest bathroom, so no need for a large vanity or storage. I have now spoken to our kitchen guy, and he can make up new units using the sinks from the incorrect sized ones. That way we can also use the tap ware that I purchased. He can match the cabinetry and bench tops for these rooms to our kitchen cabinetry, so all good, thank you. I think the plumber plumbed in two connections for the master ensuite, but the kitchen guy can work around that.

Thank you both! Yes, we are using contractors, but will do labour/DIY where we can to save $$ (iie pulling off wallpaper and other prep). My brother is a builder so will be organising the trades as they are mates of his, but I know I will need to get him onto it rather than wait for him to so he can get everyone booked in :D he will also be able to help with some of the prep work. So if we get the keys on the Fri would the below work - Fri-Sun/Mon wallpaper off, carpet off, prep Mon-Thurs floors sanded polished Thurs-Fri bedrooms (where there is carpet not floorboards painted Mon-Wed hallway and living room painted Thur-Fri carpets in bedrooms Fri/Sat move in :D
