I thought it would be, but it's not too bad actually. we door knocked the area to see who would sell, and this house said yes.. so that's why I'm trying to figure out if it's worth it. I would definitely open up the windows. Does anyone know how much even one window would cost... say on the top left combing those 2 windows into 1.. I have no idea. Just a rough guess? The house inside is actually an awesome reno potential.. they built 2 sides of the house in blueboard (I think that's what it's called) for an easy reno... but those windows at the fronts aren't so that's why I"m trying to get ideas..

@oklouise, How terribly soul destroying going to so much trouble only to find your dream idea failed!! I'm still working on my failure project, a lovely redgum table that I got super cheap but decided to try to unscrew so I could sand and revarnish etc...said table is still sitting with a few 10cm baton screws removed and several half out and a few I can't even start as heads are possible stripped. Worse is that the screws are recessed so deeply, couldn't reach the heads properly, still don't know what I'm going to do to get these huge screws out so it's not a complete disaster!! Have bought an extension for the drill and hope hubby can step in and succeed.

my very favourite cheap fix is proper concrete paving paint...otherwise quotes from concrete finishers to have the floor polished and sealed properly to compare with standard floating floors that will hide a multitude of sins and the different prices will help you decide

Hello Jonijon, Yes lots to think about here for sure. firstly I wan half way thru reading the suggestions b4 I worked out which was to be the extension and which the original! I think the best way to design these things is to put the living rooms to the north and then work out the other rooms. But with the existing house I would build up the sunken lounge so no one falls down it and does a leg or wrist. The bedrooms are too small so maybe the kitchen space can work into them and make them bigger and better. The laundry in the new plan is tiny for so many bedrooms so I wouldn't bother with it and go with the existing one or even larger. It is on the north end right?? Wrong: who needs the sun in the laundry when you spend ten minutes there? The pwd room in the new plan is odd stuck to the side like that: put it into the laundry on that plan instead. Can you move the toilet out of the main bathroom too> ? There are a few suggestions to make it all right. I would build a glass like between the two parts from the sun room to the deck and sit back and enjoy it! Cheers Margot
