We had a white kitchen (I know it's not white in the photo- that's another polytec story that ended up in a warranty claim replacement kitchen- hence the change in colour now) and I decided to go with mirror tiles though grout always an issue however so unnoticeable with the mirrored tiles easy to clean too. Each tile is a different mirror effect so doesn't show any grease spots at all. I love my choice- a little pricier but worth it I say!

Hi Sheila Would you consider metallic-finish tiles? That would tie in with the metal kickplate & other metal surfaces. It would give contrast without added colour. It would remain in the 'neutral' zone that helps this kitchen seem so relaxed. It would also reflect colours to give variety. You can then play with accessories for a colour change as the mood takes you!

Hi nice size kitchen, horizontal lines in your kitchen will make already long kitchen look a bit longer. looking at the pics of your kitchen it looks like u have a lot of horizontal line i would install the tiles lines vertically to bring the balance back. Number of lines will depend on the zones and the kitchen enterance along with dining furniture or vertical wall lights in the room. u may need to take a pic from the enterance of kitchen and draw a few details on the pics then work out the lines. Vertical lines are easy to over do so be careful. good luck

Personally I think the tiles will be to busy if you go dark tile and white grout. I am about to order a smoked mirror splash back for my new white and charcoal kitchen, but I am getting patterned stainless bench tops and have rimu floors and trims, I like you was in a real dilemma with my splash back, but had a very clear mind with everything else. All the best with your project.
