Don't be afraid of adding colour or texture. Otherwise you run the risk of everything being beige on beige with a complementing beige and zero life or character. Not that this is what you have described, but white and grey can have similar issues.

Hi Alana, yes I think you do need some texture and a bit of a feature. Have you ever considered using gorgeous 100% sheet metal? It's easy to install, easy to clean, and is seamless when used in sheet form. It also looks fabulous on counter fronts. I recommend www.thatmetalcompany.com.au who are the largest suppliers in Australia and New Zealand. They have over 100 amazing finishes - polished brass, brushed copper, aluminium, patterned, weathered, acid etched, anodized, even coloured. Ali and Ange are wonderful to deal with too. I can't find a splashback image but you'll get the idea :-)

I like the benchtop. Maybe just a stronger vein in the marble and leave it at that.

Just keep in mind that this is quite a cool palette of colours. A stronger warm grey finish in the mix could work well or timber finishes. This would help warm/ soften the palette more.

We are talking personal preferences now, so you need to make the choice for you.

Have you considered a mirror splashback? I have one in my kitchen and it is amazing. I was worried it would be hard to keep clean but its no harder than any other splashback and the best part is you can actually see where it needs to be cleaned!

How about a porcelain splashback like Quantum Six+ Porcelain sheets.

a bit different. seam free as the sheets are large.

Statuario Six+ or La Roche Blanc Six+ would go beautifully with the Raw Concrete

How about the Morrocan tile?? the blues are gorgeous & your space would look fantastic.

Kim did you end up going the Beachwood Kuni in Grey? I really like it too, have you got any photo you would like to share?

whatever you choose think about the longevity of it, will it date? Keep to something classic that will not date something you may love now that is pattern can in 5-10 years be out dated

I think that no matter what you choose in 10 years it will be dated. Plus classic can be pretty boring.

Classic is just that... classic but I do realize that each has an opinion based on personal preference, you can add to classic by using colour in your appliances which can be changed out when and if that colour becomes dated at a lot less cost than splashbacks, have a good look around on the internet you will see what I mean, that's fine each to our own and all hints here are aimed to help.
