Need ideas for our new courtyard garden!
Comments (2)I would plant along the fence line trees like Magnolia (Little Gem) or Hibiscus, and there where the wider part - low shrubs under the trees or stripy Dianella. All these plants and trees are hardy and easy to take care of. Trees don't drop the leaves and slow growing. Otherwise you can place pots with bright plants (Frangipani grows well in the pots). You can mulch the soil under the trees or put some pebbles or gravel like I did (see the photos)....See MoreNeed ideas for a multi purpouse room for teens
Comments (9)1. Delete current door location and have a full wall on the MPR/Entry side. Relocate the access to the MPR/Dining wall, but choose a flush cavity sliding door so that you don't loose any wall space (in the MPR) against which you can place furniture. The cavity door can be as wide as you want or even double cavity doors and flush ones will be completely inset in the walls when opened creating a seamless opening to main living area 2. MPR is 5.3 wide so big enough to create two zones: A. a lounge area with tv unit (built-in with plenty of storage if you can) against the garage wall, an L-shaped couch with the return/chaise part against the kitchen wall, one or two bean bags near the window wall and a large rug to frame it all B. second area would be a built-in desk (with extra storage and shelves if possible) along the full length of the entry wall, which is wide enough for two computer stations (don't forget your data points) and when the door is open you can see what they're up to from the kitchen ;) Good luck!...See MoreNeed ideas for under stairs space
Comments (11)I really like the storage ideas, suggested here; as we ha d a small flat, which had a built-in storage area under the stairs. Looked good and was very useful and practical. If you don't need a storage, I can imagine a cosy reading corner; a comfy sofa, where you can either sit or lie down, scatter cushions...if enough space, you can put a bookshelf behind the sofa. As a powerpoint already there, you can stand a nice-looking, practical lamp; for reading or to create a pleasant atmosphere :) Good luck!...See MoreNeed ideas for my little yard
Comments (15)This is an idea that will increase the usable space. Place the plants on one side to create the height and depth as mentioned in a comment earlier and then draw the timber closer together in an area to have extra sitting area. Between the others place plants like native violet that will cope with the shade. With extra space on the timber you can now have room for planters on the concrete. Paint the fence dark if you want but you could just cover with plants as it looks dark enough. Creepers like native wisteria could work. Local nursery will help as mentioned....See More- 9 years agolast modified: 9 years ago
