consider removing the ring towel holder and installing a mirror doored medicine cabinet (about 90cm -120cm wide depending on space available) recessed into the wall with a matching width towel rail below that or, if you don't need the storage, try just a nice shelf with a "picture" framed mirror...you might be lucky and find a good sized old wooden picture frame at an Op shop, paint the frame and have mirror inserted by a glass company and hang with a shelf and towel rail

Not much to work with in that photo, but going by the flash toilet roll holder I would move the towel holder down and have a plain rectangle mirror hung sideways with a painted silver frame approx 2 inches to work with that. Everything else appears white. You could even hang some black and white vertically striped wall paper on that wall and then hang the mirror. cheers

I would get the biggest mirror you could find. Remove the small (and oddly placed) towel holder and reconsider your toilet roll holder (it looks too big for the room). I would not get a rectangular or square mirror I would go for a decorative round mirror, but do not blow your budget, as it is after all only a mirror.

What about some Mirror Tiles !

Most bathroom mirror cabinets are very shallow with not much storage space, except to store medications which shouldn't be stored in humid bathrooms anyway. I agree with some people that a large, stylish rectangle mirror will make the room look bigger. A single towel rail just under the mirror will work better than the round one.

I've just had a similar dilemma trying to decide on how to liven up the boring white bathroom we ended up with thanks to a well known tile supplier mucking up big time.

I've hopefully given it some bling by using this ornate frame on some art work. If you don't want a plain edge mirror, you could do something like that?? My frame arrives tomorrow (yay). If you'd like a pic of what it looks like hung on a white wall, feel free to sing out.

We ummed and arrred about incorporating a mirrored shaving cabinet into our reno. We did, and it's way more practical than before. Everything is within easy reach. All is hidden and off the benchtop, which makes it neater and so much easier to clean. Most bathroom essentials (like soap, spray cans, toothpaste, razors, lotions etc) fit easily on the 15cm shelves. In fact, the cupboard under the vanity is now virtually empty and there's no kneeling on the floor, digging in the back of it to find stuff! The loo paper fits in a vanity drawer, so it's also out of the way. Bonuses all round.

I agree with suggestions to relocate the towel holder (if you can, of course).

So many good ideas here. I'd be thinking of an entire wall of mirror/mirror tiles, with a framed mirror hanging in front of it. Mirror on mirror is the hottest thing!

Ikea do a nice rectangular shallow mirrored cabinet in a couple of sizes and mirrored inside as well and Bunnings do a shallow cabinet with a round mirror for $129.00. I am assuming that you don't want to spend much money at this stage. We used one from Ikea in a bathroom and we used plain mirror the same height to fill the remainder of the wall at that height and you can get a hole drilled if you want to keep your towel hanger.

Try checking out 'Redcurrent' if you are in one of the main cities. I have a very small toilet and have used a gorgeous framed mirror in there - looks great.
