Carpet Colour Advice please

I posted similar in the wrong place (garages) and cant work out how to change the post location, so here goes again...
We have purchased an off the plan investment unit which we intend renting out initially and then probably downsizing to in a few years. We have chosen the Neutral scheme, but are wondering whether to use the dark carpet from the Contrast scheme. Both look way darker in this photo. Carpet will only be in bedrooms. The unit has floor to ceiling windows and hopefully a luxe vibe. Would the dark/charcoal or the beige/sand carpet work best, taking into account clean factor and suitability for a wide range of decor choices (thinking of prospective tenants). I think I like the dark carpet better, but happy to hear of your experience or opinion fellow Houzz folk.

Comments (22)Restore the facade. Don't render as you'll loose the fabulous brickwork. Just re-point it. Do maintenance on the roof as needed. I'd pressure clean then see what it comes up like. If it's still a bit ordinary then paint it. I would do a bit of investigating on other original colour schemes before choosing charcoal, even though I admit the charcoal does look really good! By the way we render as we don't want to pay brickies to really use their craft so we buy cheap bricks and render. Render does look fine when used as a feature rather than a whole facade. Don't compete with neighbours make your house more desirable by keeping its character. I would however consider spending some good money on the landscaping. There are some superb gardens on these wonderful homes around the inner suburbs of Melbourne for example and would work great with yours....See MoreAdvice on my living room colour scheme please
Comments (33)It's just that the carpet doesn't sit nicely with the wall colour. You need some accent colour in there so your chair is fine but I would add or replace some of the cushions on the lounge. The artwork is over your head so bring that down to eye level and I would look for a new colour for the wall as that is the easiest to change. Hopefully you don't live in a too warm climate as the carpet is a warm colour and the toning the wall will add to the warmth. I realise that grey is very popular at present so my other suggestion would be a huge grey mat to cover a much larger part of the existing carpet....See More- 8 years ago
