Hi Sachin Using a dark floor is no problem when the rest of the colour scheme works. I would suggest you provide a bit more detail or pics showing what you have in mind for eg style of cabinetry if applicable, what type of flooring you are considering, furniture colours, style of decor (eg contemporary, hamptons, classical) etc Build a picture of what you have in mind and the people here can give you lots of tips..... Alternatively, look at lots of pics here in the galleries and see what you like..... cheers

Well, I'll be 1st to comment(might get ball rolling for ya!). I'm a painter, 35 yrs. Is the Dulux sw1e1? Wish you had pics of swaths side by side. But that's ok. Imo, they're both going to be just fine. I very highly doubt you would go wrong either way, you'd have no regrets. After all these years I know that white, in just about any shade, is going to work with just about any furniture. Except maybe white furniture! I'd have to see the furniture to give more detailed opinion though. If were me, I would want the floor to be dark(ish) though, not light(ish). Try to slap a few pics of some of your stuff on here and maybe you will get some better opinions than mine! And more detailed as well. Either way, I know you're fine with either of the 2 paints. Imho, of course!

Suggestions from neutral colours: https://www.dulux.com.au/colour/colour-trends/2018/essential Ceiling & walls the same colour is a good choice for square set. There will be subtle hue difference in various lighting situations anyway, which provides depth and makes for an interesting look.

For a living area, it is always good to have the flexibility of lighting types and strengths depending on the use. Providing you don't have the downlights and the pendant switched on at the same time then there shouldn't be a problem with the different colour temperatures. Think about how you are going to use the space. For television watching you probably want soft background lighting that doesn't reflect off the screen. For reading a book a standard lamp over an armchair will give you good directional task lighting. If you are planning interrogations or open heart surgery then by all means go for a bright, blinding downlight pattern that lacks cosiness and is uniformly distributed across the room.
