Living room decor help!
Comments (26)Thanks ladies, I've attached the measurements of the room. That big open space is where it opens up to the dining/ kitchen area, it's all very open plan. I like the idea about the canvas and paints, that could be fun. Marsha, which way would you suggest angling the couch? Facing towards the opening, or the back towards the opening? I could put the console possibly in the blank wall next to the tv unit as there is nothing there, although I do like the idea of a kids table and chairs, but maybe I could hide that beside:behind the lounge. Could anyone show me examples of some fabric they think would look good for cushions, bright but still grown up? Thanks so much ladies :)...See MoreSmall Living room decorating.
Comments (7)Go the diagonal! There seems to be a lot of dead space in the middle. It seems like a desk/office area near the glass doors. I would move the TV there at a diagonal over the fixed part of the glass door and circle that with the couches/seating. Couches don't need to be up against walls as they are usually heavy enough to stand alone. The feet of the couches should be on the rug and only just enough room around the coffee table to get to a seat at the couches and get to the TV. I would tuck the office (if that is what that table is being used for) closer to the kitchen facing the glass doors. The path to the opening part of the doors will then be behind the couches. Since you will be able to see the back of the couches you can buy sarongs/material to drap over the back like a shawl. Pick some that match the rugs with a very simple pattern....See Moremetricon glendale sydney
Comments (29)Sumera. Congrats on making the big purchases. The rug in your last picture might be the right direction adding warmth but still the style pattern you mentioned u liked. But I would suggest you buy something on the basis you can return for full refund so you can see how it looks in place. Same with pendants etc. the room will change dramatically based on how you furnish it, and will over time develop into your style. Soft furnishings can always be updated. Good luck....See MoreHome decoration Ideas
