Update on kitchen progress

Well the kitchen is nearly done. Thought I’d post some almost there pics. Handles, cleaning and styling still to come. I tried to match the before and after angles. It looks a lot bigger with the peninsula and upstand, and the green.

Comments (17)I think everyone is basically on the same page here. Basically, this is a good kitchen which needs nothing done to it, unless you're going to live there and it's currently not to your taste. Yes, you can lighten it up by changing the splashback - it is rather brown (and I'm not a fan of brown) - but it is a perfectly 'servicable' kitchen. If you're selling then talk to a professional designer for ideas or go to tile, decorator store - or check out current magazines, and change a few things from there. If you're selling or renting, it won't make any difference to the price. If you're going to live there, then do that - like others have said, live with it for a while until you decide what you want. I think a glass splashback in another colour would go over whatever you already have there, but the countertops look like they are ceasarstone and they are fine - and a good colour. The sinks are also fine - wish I'd chosen them instead of a double sink - it takes up a lot more space but does the same job. I can't see too much that needs changing here, so it's just about what you 'want' and noone else can tell you that. All the best with what you decide....See MoreKitchen update design dilemma
Comments (22)Hi Emma, Lots of great ideas, love the idea of a larger fridge to fill that large space, build in s/s microwave, shelf or shelves either side of range hood , timber but I think stainless steel would add a bit of glamour, fill with beautiful items, then stand back and decide if you want to update cupboard doors, if so plain would look great, some great stools ... gorgeous...See MoreProgress port coogee progress

Comments (25)Your benchtop is very similar to those in our last house. Our cabinets were originally heavy cream with the same colour tiles and walls. We painted the lower cabinets black and the uppers in white. All the handles were antique brass, with brass tapware. The tiles we replaced with a soft bone colour and the walls were painted a soft grey green. The whole effect when finished was fabulous. The black cabinets and brass hardware really complemented the benchtop( which I originally hated but was too expensive to replace) and the white upper cabinets lightened and freshened the space. We also installed an illume skylight which I would recommend to anyone! Your cabinets doors look like good quality timber which would look great painted.
