Hi all, been a while but need some input, please. Our guest bedrooms each have a picture window that have dark blue curtains and a small (1600 x 600 pane) high set window on an adjoining wall. It wasn’t our intention to cover the small window as privacy isn’t an issue. However new family member is very light sensitive. So need suggestions, please. I’m thinking full length curtains would look odd for such a small window. Not a fan of the cafe / short curtain look. So that leave blinds of which I have zero experience and there are so, so many options. I think I’d prefer them fitted inside the frame, but what kind and what type of heading etc? Thx

Pls excuse the state of the room, I’m moving my office and everything is very untidy atm.

Hi all, apologies as I thought I’d already extended my thanks to you all. Although I do like plantation shutters, we decided they would limit the light to some extent and block our view. So we’ve chosen white, fitted in the frame, block out roller blinds. They’ll be up 90% of the time and husband is going to create a narrow timber frame across the top, which we will paint white, so they won’t really be visible. Added benefit, it won’t restrict our choice for our permanent curtains

A white timber Venetian can be a cheaper option than plantation shutters. If you go to i seek blinds, they have a good range and how to measure videos. They also explain face fit vs recess mount. It your window is a standard width have a look at Spotlight. Their timber blinds can be shortened DIY.

I thought those were gum trees outside that window that's why I asked. I'm from Perth. I got my blinds through Spotlight made to measure. They came out to do the quote and were very helpful and had a great range to choose from. Also, you may have even more options if you go through a company that specialises in window treatments. Check out your options.

It does look better if they are. But different but related eg all white, or all blinds can still look ok. But you have to live in it, so have what works for you.

I agree with Country House Girl, go with panel glides if you need them. I am currently shopping around online for mine to cover a similar door opening but only 6m wide. I hope to get a light filtering style to keep it soft - as opposed to block out. And will be tinting the windows for just that bit extra privacy and also sun fading protection. However if I didn't have neighbours I would just leave them bare

what about a screen fixed over the glass, same size as the windows and made with Sarlon shade cloth with dark frames the black cloth is just like looking through fly screen but provides shade over the whole windows..window blind makers should be able to make them for you

Hi all, photo of the blinds we installed in our guest bedrooms. Not exciting but neat and surprisingly inexpensive. Still haven’t chosen the permanent curtains, but have tiled our front entrance and I love it. Hope everyone’s projects are also moving in a positive direction. Off interstate soon to help elder daughter move into her new build and get her first place ready to sell

Lovely job on the porch, I think staggering your pots could add a really nice look, instead of a straight line, also maybe a taller one to add definition, even adding a white could look great.
